Maui Day 5

Maui is good for us:
adrian's allergies and stuffy nose cleared up by the 2nd day. he may have a cold now though and was coughing a lot today. maybe he'll sleep it off though since he fell asleep around 4 and looks like he'll sleep all night. he even slept through our banana/cane spider scare...moving the mattress around....walking on the mattress...and moving him...and just a little bit of screaming.

i've only had 2 out 4 nights wiht work dreams scattered in my night's sleep.
my sciatic nerve hasn't acted up every day or night, 1 out of 4 nights, and i'm sleeping on an air mattress or the couch and sitting in low beach chairs or on the sand.
i've had time to work with adrian on abc's and numbers. i like ABCya.com for games. we've borrowed an ABC book from the library as well.
Barry's been relaxed...fishing, snorkeling, taking it easy.
29 Weeks: That means 11 weeks left to finishcooking this baby. He's still very active despite reports that he will be less so.
Adrian fluctuates between kissing the baby brother belly and kicking the baby brother belly. He talks about sharing and taking care of the baby and sometimes doesn't want to talk about it and wants all the attention to himself. I think it will be hard for him to share the attention but I also think he'll be just fine and get the hang of being a good big brother.

Today is Thursday already 7/28/11. We ended up at Black Sand Beach in Makena. It was a little iffy at first...the black sand was hot and looked dirty when we first got there. That little quiet beach grew on us though. Despite no bathrooms and a bumpy ride down the hill...we enjoyed the peace and quiet together. There were tons of sea turtles riding the waves all day! Adrian was timid with the waves and never touched a toe to the water. He's such a nervous/anxious little kid and I remember and still am the same way. I worry that boy number 2 will be so adventurous it may give me a heart attack.
Barry snorkeled again and learned more from the locals about which fish to eat and catch. Enjoyed a sandwich on the beach and some leftover pizza and then for dinner pork ribs in teriayaki with mac salad and brown rice.

Sand Crabs surprisingly don't pinch and you can pick them up with bare hands. If you throw little pebbles, they chase them across the beach. One chased Adrian around for awhile...he thought that was pretty funny. I think it was confused because we blocked it's hole after throwing a pebble and then Adrian went to catch it, so it chased him!

Maui Day 1

July 24th Sunday Day 1: Ho'okipa Beach
We drove to the airport at 7am. We arrived at our gate over 2 hours before boarding time. We hung out and ate and visited a cool toy store and watched other planes take off. Our flight changed gates and we rushed over to our new gate and hopped on the plane. Adrian sat with Daddy and had a window seat. He slept and played with his toys, ate snacks and visited mommy's seat 2 rows behind theirs.

We landed 15 minutes early and were picked up at curbside and transported to Ho'okipa beach. The wind was blowing and we enjoyed some cheese and pbj sandwiches. We saw Honu or sea turtles popping up to breath all along the shoreline right before the wave breaks.
After some beach time we went home and at salad, sushi for snack, grilled homemade teriyaki sauce chicken, corn, grilled feta stuffed peppers, and warm rolls.

Day 2 to come....now it is over and we're all worn out and off to bed.

28 Weeks: 12 Weeks Left to Go

Love feeling my baby moving...I'm pretty sure he's got 10 elbows. He's so active and also interactive! He's been pushing his hand against my belly button, running his feet in place on my side and pushing out with his elbows maybe trying to stretch out and make more room. He responds when you tap or push back. He responds when I'm still, when I type, or when I read to Adrian. He is visibly active and throughout the day gets excited and wiggles, flips, and just plays. Right now he's shifting around. I am supposed to be doing 'kick counts' which is where you keep track for up to 10 kicks/movements of hte baby within one hour. This child by far excedes that. Usually I can get 10 in less than five minutes. Funny thing, and same as with Adrian, he is still when Barry rests his hands on him...he must feel a difference. I joke that Barry calms him and puts them to sleep. He really does...Adrian only falls asleep for Barry on the ride home, watching movies, and only falls asleep for me if he's tucked into bed or seriously worn out on a car ride. When Adrian was in my belly, he did the same thing.
I'm up to 146-147 lbs. I'm below the expected gain at this point but gaining. Who knows...I sure look giant with this belly.
We are signed up for the FCEA childbirth class-a refresher course since we've taken it before with Becky Wade. Super helpful for doing Adrian's birth natural and for Barry to know how to help me. It will be good to do it again for a reminder. I'll be planning on doing this birth all natural as well.

Adrian is 3 Years, 3 Months and 3 Weeks!!! He has started singing songs, making up stories and pretending to read books. We read each night and he usually wants to read all of his books...I have a huge children's book collection! We never get tired of reading. I set up his art corner and organized his supplies! He is a little helper and has 'chores'. He vacuums with our new little bissell/dirt devil, feeds his fish, cleans the marker off the wall when he colors on the wall, give the dogs and cats food, fills their water, and helps cook! He loves to stir, flip pancakes, hold the eggs, grind the coffee, use his own knife to cut soft things, push buttons on electronics and help wash dishes.

100 Days Left: Happy 4th of July!

January 29, 2008 is to July 3, 2011 as Adrian is to Boy #2. With 100 days left to go, I'm feeling similar kicks, tickles and recognizing baby body parts. This little guy lies curled sideways and tickles and kicks straight down, or straight out to the side, as Adrian was more curled facing up or down and mostly kicked my right hip/stomach. This little guy rotates quite often and I think he sits lower than Adrian ever did.

We have a name we like but...are still deciding whether it's right. I think we should pick a few names and choose when we meet him :)

Adrian:
Beads are "beatles" Still says "L's" as "W's" Loves to paint, read, and play with stickers. Loves to play outside and harass the dogs. Is very good at playing by himself. Likes to go on 'adventures'. He's loving summer! Swimming is so much fun! Fireworks are fun! Biking and playing with friends is fun!
Talks incessantly sometimes...other times we enjoyt he peace and quiet of each other. Has developed a bad habit of repeating himself a lot even if I answer him...we're working on this issue as I do not have any tolerance for this. He is learning 'patience' which means 'waiting and waiting and waiting some more'. He's learning the concept of 'fairness' and of course taking turns and sharing is something he's pretty good at.
He tells stories and has an imaginary friend named Odi. Odi is three years old. He can jump and lives at the farm and at our house. Odi plays at our house!
Dad is riding his bike to and from work, with the trailer so that he can pick up Adrian after work! He's getting a good workout and Adrian loves riding with dad! Adrian is also getting good at balancing on his balance bike that he got from dad for his birthday.

MAUI!
We have our tickets for Maui! We are going to go from July 24-Aug 2nd. We bought tickets for Adrian and Daddy seperately because Grandpa got mommy's ticket!!! We however landed (priceline-name your own price=you get what you get and you don't throw a fit) on the same flight to Maui and are arriving home only an hour and a half apart (Barry and Adrian have non stop flight to Maui as well as home-I stop in LA on the way home for a layover)!!!! We got a great deal of $350 + $50 tax for each ticket! Can't beat that..hopefully that's enough to fuel the plane across the ocean. We are so excited! Adrian keeps saying 'right now'. He explains that he is going to build sandcastles and swim in the ocean with Grandpa. He talks about the airport and the airplane. Grandma and Grandpa are ready for us...Adrian has his pool and chair all set up. I think they may try to keep him if we let them.

What else is new?
Got a massage yesterday! That was much needed. I have another scheduled for July 23, in order to relax before my relaxing vacation :) Along with needing to do a full months work in three weeks AND having a dentist and doctor appointment scheduled AND needing to pack, and and and....I think a massage is a good idea before I leave.

I had a doctor appointment on June 28 and had the blood glucose tolerance test. I passed this time!!! I however did not pass my iron test :( I am anemic. I have to take iron pills..with oj every morning. Poor baby...No wonder I crave hamburgers often.

Uh Oh I've lost Barry to facebook...he is now learning all the last names of his friends...hehehee...If you need to contact him, use facebook.
