Life is so busy now that I'm back at work...busier and I get less done...hmmm..how does that work?
Adrian is back in preschool after winter break. Dad had a parent workday today and it was emperor penguin day!! Fun! We made blue sparkly playdo for January for the snow/ice theme. Adrian only attends twice weekly and has yet to remember all of his friends' names. He has tough time recalling what happened except 'I played'. We continue to work on our ABC's, alphabet sounds, and numbers, as well as basic math. We play the adding/take away fingers game when we eat. He knows every one of his ABC's and the sounds they all make! He loves his Leapfrog Videos that reinforce these basic skills with fun stories and characters. He also likes 'Little Einsteins'; a cartoon with classical music, and other basic skills set to adventure stories. He's figured out his Leapster video game pretty quickly and enjoys playing 'Go Diego Go' on it. He LOVES to be read to and has started looking at books more on his own. We read a story tonight and I missed a line and went to the next page, and he recognized that I did that and pointed to the words and said 'you didn't read this'. Awesome!!! Aunt Peggy and Grandpa Tim got Adrian magazine subscriptions to "Animal Baby" and "National Geographic Kids" !!! He loves getting his magazines in the mail.
He still weighs about 33lbs however was at 31lbs the other day. Probably dieting by default since our personal chef (dad) has gone vegan on us. He is 40" tall now! He has grown out of all of his clothes and I just got him some bigger sizes but have to do laundry more than once a week to keep his drawer stocked with pants. The other day Adrian says "mom I'm almost 4". I keep telling him to stop growing so fast and he laughs, runs away and grows some more.
Kaili is growing too! Wearing 3-6 month outfits now. He chews on his hands, trying to stuff both of them in his mouth all day, even when nursing or drinking his bottle. He usually takes about 2 oz bottles but has started taking up to 4 oz at a time!!! If I weigh him while holding him on the scale, he's almost 13 lbs. Kaili is a happy baby, always ready with a big smile or a little chuckle when he wakes up or when someone interacts with him:) He loves kicking his toys, looking at his hands, and is starting to grab at things and put them in his mouth. He even chewed on his pacifier for Liza and later for mom today! He's a drooler...actually goes through more than one outfit a day sometimes...Adrian never did that. I see a lot of differences between the boys and it's fun to learn about their personalities as they grow. Kaili still has cradle cap, and exzema:( Lotion is helping with the excema at least. He has a little cough and some congestion still too :( He can roll from tummy to back and from back to side. He doesn't mind tummy time. He's doing well with Liza and Gpa Tim when mommy works. Gma Biss comes over on her days off and Thurs and if she's not too tired after work on Tue. Liza watches the boys Mon and Wed for preschool days and on Fridays. Liza has two boys, 2 and 4 and Adrian plays really well with them. They are so cute together. Childcare plan seems to be working well so far!!!
Dad has gone on a vegan diet *except for seafood occasionally. He's losing weight by eating no meat or animal products and by working out daily at Grandma's gym with Uncle Bobby. He eats a lot of salad, tofu, vegies, fruit, and potatoes. We eat whatever he cooks, since he is our personal chef, and it actually isn't half bad. Hoping that I'll lose weight by default as well, and once in awhile doing my situps. Dad's childhood friends Mark and Nick from NJ came over, one visiting and one that now lives in Denver and they had lots of fun last week just catching up. Funny I come home and find 3 grown men with their long hair hanging down listening to heavy metal. Time doesn't change too much.
Work is busy...starting to feel really busy again, although my coworkers and supervisor eased me into it and I had 3 four day weeks with all the holidays, and will get another one next week!!! Very nice start to it all. My sciatica has stopped bothering me and I haven't gone to PT in awhile. I should be keeping up with my exercises but haven't been consistent. We went to Family dinner last week:) Adrian had fun with his cousins and we all played BeezleBizzle or some trivia game! I love my automatic starter in the van and am scrambling to get my tags in time...they expire tomorrow so I better take time and just do it. We no longer can use our badges to skip in line I heard :( Loving the van though and all the space.
