Wednesday Thanksgiving at my family's home in Longmont!
Thursday Thanksgiving at our home with Barry's family and everyone bringing their own creations.
Friday we had a nice day off and just stayed home.
Saturday we took a drive to Boulder to walk around, eat and shop.
Today I'm catching up on paperwork, bills, house...etc.. before a stressful long week. Better get back to it.

Adrian's 18 Months Old now! We had a cake and celebrated his 1/2 birthday. He's such a ham.

Recently (can't remember which weekend) went to the Denver Zoo on Free Day with Audra, Harlan, Fabien and Zachari! Adrian had so much fun looking at all the animals, it was hard to drag him from each exhibit to the next-he could have stayed there all year I bet!.jpg)

What a long week...I applied for a caseworker position on 11/2 and interviewed on Wed 11/18. It would mean different work, whereas now I manage only a small portion of a case: supervision of visitation of parents with their children (when their children are not placed in the home and are instead in foster or kinship care) and Lifeskills education which can range from information and trainng on parentin skills to community resources. I have time to build relationships with families and research and teach what they need to know for their individual case. I work one on one with families for a few to more months. Right now I am a Lifeskills Specialist aka Case Aide (aide to the family not caseworker-fyi). I felt that the interviews went well and of course thought of things that I wanted to say and forgot during the interview but hopefully my resume will stand up for my other experiences. I am still waiting to hear back regarding the decisions. There were two openings. I am trying not to hold my breath but I can't wait to hear back!!! Work is well otherwise and either way I'll still enjoy my job!
More work news: I am going to TX for work. One of my families is split between CO and TX and this is just one responsibility of working with my families. Sad news is I will miss Barry's Christmas party on Dec 4th :( I'll miss my little baby-kins also but two long days and one night won't kill us.
Adrian is such a toddler. He is picking up words left and right. He says 'nice' 'cheese' 'down' 'done' and tons of 'B' words. It's his favorite letter and he even adds it to words that don't start with 'b'.

WINTER SNOW AGAIN!
We're on a wintery advisory warning or something that means I may get a snow day tomorrow! How exciting!
Pickle wants to stay up and not go to bed so he got up but only until I finish writing then back to bed. Spoiled! One wise mom told me that it's easy to spoil the first child but later on you'll wonder why you did it when it doesn't happen to the second...I always thought that wouldn't be me...but look at me know and he's only 1. He's a good boy though so he's not spoiled rotten at least! There I guess is the difference.
Barry came down with some stomach thing, maybe food poisoning, yesterday. Feeling much better today but still can't eat and keep it in. Gramma Linda started throwing up today too. I hope Adrian doesn't catch anything. I'd rather catch it for him. Babysitter Amber was exposed to the regular and swine flu which has a 4-7 day incubation period so who knows...maybe I should just quit my job and build my baby a bubble. Sounds like a plan to me.
Speaking of job, actually, I'm applying for a caseworker position which would mean a raise, different and more responsibility, and maybe a better schedule depending on the case load and my ease into the position. We'll see. I'll finish the application tomorrow or at least by Monday and see from there. There are actually two positions being hired for so that's exciting.
Adrian is running amuck with a calculator and a lid to a permanant marker, I should go find that marker and put the monkey to bed (again).

Happy Autumn
We went, as a whole family, to the pumpkin patch at Lee Martinez Farm. Adrian was so excited when we first got there, and the rest of the time too, that he was running in circles and couldn't decide if he wanted to look at the chickens or follow the other children. He ended up picking out 2 gourds and a pumpkin. He calls them 'balls' and throws them all over the house. He also tries to take bites out of them and share them with the dogs.
After the pumpkin patch, we went to the park and Adrian climbed and swung and slid and teetered and tottered! We fed grass to some horses and then 2 horses started fighting which was really scary especially for Adrian. Then mom lost her phone and dad had to call it a bunch so mom could find it amidst the leaves.
Went to visit aunt Laurie and she fed us chicken soup and sloppy joes for dinner. Visited gramma and grampa for a few minutes, then Dad went to a Halloween party and mom opted out and gave pookie a bath, then colored pictures and ate icecream with little pookie, then put him to bed and started reading 'The Bridges of Madison County'.
Update:
Adrian can now say shoes, socks, trash, juice, door (with an accent), please, bye-bye or bye-byes, hello, mommy, daddy, gramma, grampa, and moo. He puts together two words like please shoes or byebye daddy. He says 'buckle' too in his carseat. He shakes his head no or yes and says 'uh uh' for no.
He keeps getting taller. He tries to jump and likes to jump on the trampoline at the neighbor's house. He loves to dance! He can open doors no problem. He likes to drive mommy's car and can open the car doors from the inside. When you mention cars or driving he says 'vroom vroom.' He pretend plays with his cars and drives them around saying 'vroom' or 'brbrbrbrbrbrbrbr'.
He peed in the potty again this morning!
He's sympathetic when someone gets hurt and gave me hugs this morning when I hurt my knee. He reacts appropriately but not unecessarily to fear, alarm, happiness, and anger/frustration.
He brings books to you to read, turns pages and points to pictures. We have fun at the library.
He listens to commands like 'sit down' or 'lets go to your room'. He picks up the food he throws on the floor after eating, and always likes to throw his diaper in the trash.
He's explorative and enjoys taking out all his toys as well as all the tupperware and the broom, swiffer mopper, his broom, both dustpans, his vacuum, and the mop and spread them all over the house while 'cleaning' and playing. He's great a playing alone but also likes to play with mom and dad and his friends. He doesn't get upset when they boss him around or take his toys. Sometimes he gets jealous of mom's attention especially when mom holds another baby. He also has to be held.

Last weekend was nice. Stayed home and made play-dough and chicken soup! Adrian didn't try to eat the playdough, miraculously, but did enjoy sticking chop sticks in it and cutting it with a pizza cutter.
